The Story

Somna and I have now known each other for more than twenty-five years. We both come from humble beginnings — born in India, raised with little, and brought to the U.S. young, where we built a life from scratch. DrAKsa was our second barrel ever, sourced from local California vineyards and built around four grapes we chose for their richness and complexity: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Tannat, aged over twenty months in oak. We named it DrAKsa, the Sanskrit word for grapes — classic California fruit, given a name rooted in where we came from. Like everything we make, it was hand-crafted with our daughters alongside us, a true family affair.

Inky boysenberry, cassis liqueur, and wild sage layer over roasted espresso bean and crushed slate, framed by muscular, age-worthy tannins.

What the Name Means

Sanskrit for grapes — a name that holds our shared heritage and humble beginnings, chosen for a wine that is truly a family affair, hand-crafted with our daughters.
